Steeplechase runner, Peruth Chemutai has won Uganda’s second medal at the ongoing Olympics games in Paris France.
Chemutai clocked a time of 8:53.34 at the Stade de France on Tuesday evening to win silver in the women’s 3,000m race.
She however came behind Bahrain’s Winfred Mutile Yavi who clocked 8:52.76 who clinched a new Olympic record while Kenya’s Faith Cherotich took bronze after posting a time of 8:55.15.
France’s Alice Finot came fourth with a time of 8:55.15.
This is the second medal for Uganda at the ongoing Olympics games, after long distance runner, Joshua Cheptegei won gold in the 10,000m race last week.
