Ugandan forward Ivan Bogere has joined Tabora United in the Tanzania Premier League, this website can reliably confirm.
The striker has signed a one year contract with the Tabora-based club, ending all earlier speculation linking him to FUFA Big League side Blacks Power.
Bogere is set to make his debut at his new club on Sunday, August 18, as Tabora start their 2024/25 league campaign with a trip away to Steven Mukwala’s Simba.
In the league last season, Tabora finished 14th of 16 teams, after collecting just 27 points from 30 games.
Back in Uganda, Bogere had already proven just how good he is with Proline, Wakiso Giants and most recently SC Villa.
Bogere last featured for SC Villa in the UPL. He had joined the Jogoos at the start of the 2022/23 season on a two year employment contract from Proline.
In 2019, the striker, then just an 18 year-old managed to score 15 goals to win the 2028/19 FUFA Big League Golden boot, as Proline earned promotion to the UPL.
In 2020, Bogere played for the Uganda U-20 team in the AFCON Qualifiers, and he scored five goals to win the Golden Boot as the Hippos won the regional trophy in Arusha, Tanzania.
In 2021, the striker was also part of the historical Uganda Hippos side that remarkably won silver at the 2020 U20 AFCON in Mauritania, after narrowly losing the final to Ghana.
