Big League: Hakim Magombe Joins Paidha Black Angels

0

Experienced left back Hakim Magombe has joined Paidha Black Angels on a two-year contract, running until 2026.

Only awaiting official unveiling, Magombe is currently in Congo, for pre-season preparations with the newly promoted FUFA Big League side.

Before Jinja North, Magombe had also previously played for Mbarara City, Onduparaka, BUL FC and Busoga United.

The left back was one of the outstanding players at Jinja North last season, despite the club failing to maintain their Big League status.

The Jinja-based club was relegated back to the third division after just two seasons in the second division, having finished 14th on the table of 15 teams.

They collected just 18 points from 27 games, comprising only three wins, nine draws and upto 15 losses!

Meanwhile, Paidha Black Angels overcame Northern Gateway in a two-legged affair in the playoffs to qualify back to the Big League after four straight years away in the Regional League, since their demotion in 2020.

When the 2024/25 Big League season kicks off in October, Paidha Black Angels will start with an away visit to the Greenlight Stadium in Arua, to face off with neighbors Onduparaka in the much-anticipated West Nile derby.

As the Blacks strengthen their squad for the new challenge, they have amongst other new players also signed Brian Kayanja, Billy Nkata and Frederick Mayindi.
