Renowned Ugandan singer Juliana Kanyomozi has spoken out against a viral video circulating on social media, in which some claim she is featured.
In an official statement, Kanyomozi clarified that she is not the individual in the video and has no connection to the people behind it.
“I wish to inform the well-meaning public and my fans that I am not the person in that video, neither do I know the malicious individuals behind it,” she stated.
The singer expressed disappointment over the false claims and urged her supporters to reject the misleading content.
“I therefore disassociate myself from it and ask you, the general public and my fans, to do the same,” Kanyomozi added.
Kanyomozi has long been one of Uganda’s most celebrated musicians, known for her soulful voice and numerous hits.
Her career spans over two decades, with chart-topping songs like Kanyimbe, Nabikoowa, and Zaabu.
She has also made her mark as an actress and judge on Tusker Project Fame, further cementing her status as a multi-talented figure in East Africa’s entertainment industry.
Beyond her musical success, Kanyomozi is admired for her resilience and private nature.
She has faced personal tragedies, including the loss of her son Keron in 2014, but has consistently demonstrated strength and grace in the public eye.
In 2020, she welcomed a second son, a joyous moment widely celebrated by her fans.
Juliana’s statement serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible media consumption, as false information and malicious content continue to spread across social platforms.
She urged the public to be vigilant and not to engage with or share the video further.
