About the British Columbia PNP

British Columbia selects high-scoring individuals by giving invitations to them through the BC PNP draw who have applied under each category of the PNP, allowing them to live and work permanently in the province. Candidates who receive a provincial nomination can apply to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada for permanent residence visas (IRCC).

The province of British Columbia offers its citizens quality living standards as well as more options for job advancement as per their labour needs. The province of British Columbia invites up to 1,350 skilled workers each year and with the support of the BC PNPs nominee programs the candidates are invited.

The British Columbia provincial nomination program (BC PNP)  comprises the following categories via which immigrants might be invited:

Skilled Workers: Foreign workers who have obtained a credible job offer for skilled employment from an eligible Canadian company fall into this category. Candidates must also have relevant job experience in respective occupations.

International Post-Graduate, BC Degree Category: The British Columbia Degree Category is for overseas students who have earned a master’s or doctorate degree from a recognised educational institution in the province of British Columbia.

International Graduate, Canadian Degree Category: This category is for international students who have recently graduated from a valid and eligible Canadian educational institution.

Entry-level and Semi-skilled Worker Category: This sub-category is for immigrants who want to apply for certain semi-skilled or entry-level jobs in tourism/hospitality, food processing, or long-haul transportation.

Other than these categories there are two categories that do not require an invitation to apply: HealthCare Professional and International Post-Graduate under Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams.

The provincial cut-offs are based on Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). It is a mechanism through which candidates are ranked and invited for provincial nomination. As an applicant, you can have a rough estimate of what can be a good score for getting invited to BC PNP through the last few cut-offs.
