On January 27 details of a second immigration draw held in January were disclosed by Quebec’s immigration ministry. Quebec invited 322 skilled professionals to apply for permanent residence. The candidates were asked to apply under the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) by the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) .
Candidates were required to have a valid job offer outside of the Montreal metropolitan area and should have had an Arrima Expression of Interest profile with at least 647 points.
This is Quebec’s second draw of the year, bringing the total number of invites issued to 834 in 2022. In 2021, the province invited 3,564 applicants to apply for permanent selection through Arrima.
Quebec announced its immigration intake targets for 2022 in October 2021. The province’s economic immigration initiatives, such as the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) and the Québec Experience Program (PEQ), are expected to attract the majority of entrants .

In 2022, the plan plans for the admission of 49,500 to 52,500 immigrants across all immigration categories, plus an additional 18,000 admissions to meet the federal government’s 2020 admission levels, which were not met owing to the COVID-19 epidemic. This means that in 2022, the province of Quebec might welcome more than 70,000 newcomers.
About Quebec’s Regular Skilled Worker Program:
The Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program is designed for skilled workers who are more likely to become economically established in the province. The programme is popular with qualified professionals and international graduates who want to work in Quebec permanently.
Candidates who have been asked to apply for permanent selection have 60 days to complete their applications and pay processing fees. Quebec expects to process complete applications in six months, beginning with the receipt of all essential paperwork. All forms and documents are included in this category.
Candidates will receive a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ or Quebec Selection Certificate) if they are successful . They can then use this certificate to apply to the Canadian federal government for permanent residence.
Applicants who desire to settle in Quebec are evaluated using a different approach than those who wish to settle elsewhere in Canada. Quebec’s immigration policies are separate from those run by the federal government of Canada.
