A total of 8,691 immigrant applicants were invited by Manitoba, to apply for a provincial nomination
Manitoba has announced the results of its most recent round of invites, which took place on 7th October. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) accepted 426 immigrants from three Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). The distribution is as given below:
- 350 invitations (with a minimum EOI score of 446): Skilled Workers in Manitoba
- 21 invitations (with a minimum EOI score of 729): for Overseas Skilled Workers
- 55 invitations (with no EOI score requirement): International Education Stream
- 84 invitations went to candidates in the Express Entry system
The Express Entry system is used to manage the three federal high-class categories for immigration purposes, i.e., CEC (Canadian Experience Class), FSWP (Federal Skilled Worker Program), and FSTP (Federal Skilled Trades Program).
Candidates who submit a profile to the Express Entry system are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). This CRS score is based on several factors such as age, job experience, education, and language abilities. Then, through regular Express Entry draws, the top-scoring applicants are invited to apply for permanent residency.
It can circumvent the PNP procedure and obtain a permanent residency invitation by applying directly through Express Entry. On the other hand, a provincial nomination results in an automatic 600 CRS points, virtually guaranteeing applicants an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a later Express Entry draw.

Manitoba’s immigration policies are overseen by the MPNP, which facilitates immigration applications to the federal government. Although Canadian provinces cannot grant permanent status, they can help candidates by providing provincial nominations.
Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba categories are designed to assist the government in identifying persons who meet the province’s labour market criteria.
Outside Manitoba, candidates must demonstrate links to the province, such as close family ties, previous experience in the province, or an invitation through one of Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives. You do not need to be a Manitoba resident at the time of your application to be eligible.
To be qualified for an invitation under the Skilled Workers category in Manitoba, you must have a full-time job offer from a firm in Manitoba. International graduates with in-demand skills who complete their studies in Manitoba are eligible for an invitation under the International Education Stream.
