In the latest draw update released on August 5 2021, Saskatchewan sent 452 Invitations to Apply to candidates for provincial nomination.
These candidates were targeted based on the work experience in one of the 65 occupations in demand. Out of the 452 invites, roughly 171 shall be eligible from the Express Entry sub-category and the rest 281 from the Occupations-in-Demand list issued by the Province of Saskatchewan. Other categories from which the candidates may have been eligible for a nomination are Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) and International Skilled Worker sub-category.
- The important factors that the candidates needed to be eligible were:
- Expression of Interest with a minimum score of 73
- Relevant education equivalent to Canadian standard
- The educational documents should be ECA (Educational Credential Assessments) verified
- Work experience should be demonstrated in one of the 65 Occupations-in-demand list issued by Saskatchewan
What is the Occupation-in-Demand subcategory?
Highly Skilled workers who do not have a job offer but can demonstrate relevant work experience in one of the 65 occupations list issued by the Government of Saskatchewan can apply under this sub-category. This category is open to applicants who do not possess an Express Entry Profile.

In order to apply for this category, the candidates need to create an Expression of Interest profile through Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) online application system. The applicants shall be assessed on the basis of:
- Age
- Education
- Work experience
- Language proficiency
- Adaptability
The applicants are scored out of 100 based on SINP’s point assessment grid. From the EOI pool of candidates, the highest scoring candidates are sent an Invitation to Apply for a provincial nomination of Saskatchewan. The selected candidates can eventually apply for a Canadian permanent residency.
