The National Entrepreneurs and Traders Association (NETA) showcased exceptional creativity during the Uganda–Somalia Investment and Business Forum held at Mestil Hotel in Kampala on Wednesday.

Representing Uganda’s traders and entrepreneurs, NETA captivated the Somali delegation with a range of partnership proposals and investment opportunities, particularly in agriculture, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship. Their exhibition featured live product displays including a standout showcase of pineapples that left attendees impressed and intrigued.

Dr. Thadeus Musoke Nagenda, Chairman of NETA, commended the forum, emphasizing the importance of such platforms in forging partnerships that can unlock vast opportunities across multiple sectors. He reassured local traders and entrepreneurs that the discussions held with potential Somali partners would be followed up to ensure tangible outcomes.

“These collaborations are key to driving sector growth, creating employment, and expanding the regional value chain, which ultimately contributes to the national economy,” Dr. Musoke said.

Several dignitaries who attended the event and visited the NETA exhibition stall expressed their admiration for the innovative displays and the forward-thinking ideas presented.

The forum also marked a significant milestone as the Minister of State for Regional Affairs, Hon. John Mulimba, officially flagged off the first ceremonial consignment destined for Mogadishu, symbolizing a strengthened trade relationship between the two nations.
