RACE FOR STATE HOUSE! M7 pleads with NAMISINDWA — “Renew your NRM vows or regret later!”

Namisindwa – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Saturday made a passionate appeal to the people of Namisindwa to continue supporting the National Resistance Movement (NRM), highlighting the party’s key role in Uganda’s transformation over the past decades.

Addressing a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, the President underscored the four pillars of the NRM’s policies—peace, development, wealth creation, and job creation—as essential components in securing the country’s future prosperity.

Speaking amidst a light drizzle, President Museveni reminded the residents of Namisindwa of the significant strides Uganda has made since the NRM came to power in 1986. He emphasized that the peace Uganda enjoys today, built on the NRM’s foundation, is the key to all other achievements.

“Peace is the foundation of everything. Without peace, there is no development. Without peace, there are no jobs, no wealth, no prosperity,” Museveni told the crowd.

“We are now one of the most stable countries in the region, and this is because of the NRM’s commitment to unity and security for all Ugandans.”

In his address, the President also drew attention to the substantial progress the district has seen under NRM governance, citing infrastructure projects such as the tarmac road connecting Lwakhakha to Mbale, improvements in healthcare and education facilities, and the ongoing expansion of water supply systems.

He outlined how these projects directly contribute to the well-being of local residents and the overall development of Namisindwa.Turning to wealth creation, President Museveni stressed that true economic growth comes from cultivating personal wealth, not relying on government jobs. He pointed to the success of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in Namisindwa, where over Shs. 50 billion has been disbursed to help households engage in income-generating activities.

“The government doesn’t provide jobs directly; it creates the conditions for you to create your own wealth,” Museveni said, highlighting the positive outcomes of programs like Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) and the PDM. “These programs have helped farmers like Mudebo and Nyanaka Richard to transform their lives and employ others.”

The President also reiterated his commitment to free education for all, calling for continued efforts to eliminate school fees and make education accessible to every Ugandan child. He stressed that education and skills development are vital to the future success of the country, citing the story of Joy Munyalo, a successful graduate of the State House skilling program, who now runs a small business and employs other single mothers.

With Namisindwa being a stronghold for the NRM in past elections, the President’s visit marked a key moment in his campaign for the 2026 elections, where he called on the people of the district to renew their support for the party’s vision of continued progress and national unity.
