Incumbent Mbale District Woman MP, Mukhaye Confirms Readiness For President Museveni’s Huge Victory In Bugisu In 2026 As She receives The NRM Flag

Butebo, Uganda — The Minister for Science, Technology, and Innovation, Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero has confirmed that residents of Butebo District are fully prepared to welcome the NRM presidential flag bearer and President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is set to visit the district on Wednesday, November 12.

The President is expected to address supporters at Butebo District Headquarters starting at 2:00 PM, with gates opening at 9:00 AM to allow early arrivals.

Dr. Musenero said preparations are in high gear and that the people of Butebo are eager to receive the Head of State. She revealed that mobilization materials such as caps, T-shirts, and reflectors have been distributed to the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) to boost grassroots mobilization ahead of the visit.

She noted that the district has “turned yellow” in anticipation of the President’s arrival and reaffirmed the residents’ commitment to the NRM’s development agenda and the PLU’s patriotic mission of mobilizing citizens for national transformation.

Dr. Musenero, who also chairs the NRM in Butebo District, said residents hope the President will address key challenges facing the area and highlight the government’s achievements under the Parish Development Model and the Uganda Women Empowerment Programme.

She appealed to the government to consider upgrading key district roads, especially the Nakaloke–Akadot road, which would connect Butebo to major routes between Kamokoli–Pallisa and Pallisa–Kumi. “If the Nakaloke–Akadot road is tarmacked, production will increase, value addition will improve, and farmers will easily access markets,” she said.

Meanwhile, the State Minister for Local Government, Hon. Victoria Rusoke Businge, who represented the Minister for Local Government, commissioned 13 new administrative blocks in Butebo District.

She commended district leaders for the quality of work done, saying the completed facilities reflect proper use of public funds. Hon. Rusoke also visited Kabelai Subcounty, Kanginima Town Council, and Maizimasa Subcounty to monitor ongoing projects.

She pledged to support the district leadership in advocating for compensation of nine families who lost their loved ones in a recent accident in Kapchorwa District.

“We are proud of the progress made in Butebo and remain committed to supporting local development efforts across the country,” Hon. Rusoke said.

Tappy Namulondo, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Butebo District, also highlighted several challenges faced during the execution of district duties. She cited understaffing, with several key departmental positions still vacant, and a shortage of support staff.

Namulondo further pointed out inadequate infrastructure in schools, including a lack of classrooms, pit latrines, and desks, which continues to hinder the delivery of quality education. She also expressed concern over the late release of the Parish Revolving Fund (PRF) by the Ministry of Finance, contrary to the approved schedule, saying this delay affects the timely implementation of development
