Mukono Zone Opens Bids For 2026 Zonal Games Hosting

Mukono Zone Secondary Schools sports association has started the process to look for the hosts of the 2026 Zonal games.

“This is to inform you that our zone on the 4th February, 2026 opened the bidding process to all schools that have an interest in hosting this year’s (2026) Zonal games. Closing date is on Friday 13th, February 2026”. Reads the document released.

The Zone (Mukono) has categorized the championships giving opportunities and time frame for any school wishing to bid.

For term 1 games, the document has listed down four (4) games that is to say Football Boys, Basketball 5X5, Football Girls and Racquet games.

For term Two, Schools will bidding to host Ball Games 2 (Netball, Volleyball and Handball), Athletics, Swimming, Under age categories both genders, Basketball 3X3, Dancesport, Football and Baseball.

For effective bidding, the executive committee has set guidelines for any school to show interest in hosting this year’s games.

Event over view (Name, Expected date and significance) is put as number one requirement for any school to host.

Among other minimum host requirements include accommodation, Water supply, security, food stock and enough playing grounds.

A school bidding tonhost should also have an evidence of experience to host and also financial backing/logistical plans.

The goal is to select a venue that provides premier experience for athletes and spectators while showcasing.

For bidding, schools are advised to formally work hand in hand with the district authorities and should be presented to the Mukono Zone executive by Friday 13th February, 2026.
