Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda Limited (AMCUL) has enhanced the lives of six Airtel Money customers by rewarding them with motorbikes as part of the ongoing Vroomula Amajja campaign.

This initiative aims to promote cashless transactions and financial inclusion across Uganda.

During this week’s prize handover, Charlotte Tushabe, Head of Usage and Retention at Airtel Money, reaffirmed the campaign’s mission.

“We are transforming lives, promoting a cashless economy, and advocating for financial inclusion throughout Uganda with the Vroomula Amajja campaign,” Tushabe stated.

She highlighted that the campaign has already awarded over shs300 million to customers. “We are rewarding customers every day. We’ve also rewarded around 200 agents with over shs50 million and businesses using Airtel merchants have received over shs30 million. We encourage business owners with Airtel merchant codes to motivate their customers to pay through Airtel Money,” she added.

The Vroomula Amajja campaign has so far produced over 2,000 winners, who have received various prizes, including 52 motorbikes valued at shs200 million, as well as daily cash prizes.

One of this week’s winners, Ronald Kagoda, expressed his excitement about the future after receiving his prize.

“I was going about my business collecting scrap when I received a call saying I had won a motorbike in the Vroomula Amajja promotion. I couldn’t believe it was real until I saw the bike with my own eyes. This is a life-changing moment for me. I will use it to expand my business and empower myself to become a millionaire, all thanks to Airtel Money,” Kagoda shared.

Maimuna Namakula, a waitress from Makindye, also shared her experience of winning.

“I deposited money on my Airtel Money account and won a motorbike. My husband is going to use it to earn some money to support our family. I am extremely happy to finally see it and receive the keys,” she said.

The Vroomula Amajja campaign continues to encourage more Ugandans to embrace cashless transactions, demonstrating the potential of digital payments to enhance livelihoods across the country.
