The province asks candidates in the Express Entry pool of Alberta to apply for a Certificate of Nomination through periodical drawings, the receipt of which will considerably enhance their application for permanent residency. Alberta has, for the time being, a quota of 6250 nomination certificates to be issued this year. The province may have concluded sending invitations for the current year since the number of invitations issued has now exceeded the number of certificates of nomination that can be provided.
The Alberta Express Entry stream is a by-product of the PNP (Provincial Nominee Programs), wherein it allows the provincial governments to search the federal government’s Express Entry pool for profiles of persons who could be qualified for a provincial nomination.
