Arthur Kaluma Returns for NBA Draft

Silverbacks Small Forward Arthur Kaluma has once again thrown his hat into the NBA Draft ring, announcing his eligibility on social media on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-7 wing expressed gratitude to God and his college coaches while reflecting on his journey from Irving, Texas, to the collegiate spotlight.

Kaluma’s decision marks the continuation of a promising career that has seen him excel both on the court and on the international stage.

With an average of 14.4 points and seven rebounds per game in the 2023-24 season, Kaluma has proven himself as a formidable presence in college basketball.

In his statement on Instagram, Kaluma thanked Coach Tang and the entire Kansas State staff for the opportunity to compete in one of the nation’s toughest conferences.

He also expressed appreciation for the lasting connections forged with teammates and fans during his time at Kansas State.

This isn’t the first time Kaluma has tested the NBA waters. Last year, he declared for the draft only to withdraw in June, opting instead to return to college for another season of development.

Now, with his sights set on the next level, Kaluma is prepared to showcase his skills to NBA scouts and decision-makers.

Before making a name for himself at Kansas State, Kaluma spent two seasons at Creighton, demonstrating his versatility and athleticism on the court.

His basketball journey began in Irving, Texas, where he attended Universal Academy before transferring to Dream City Christian School in Glendale, Arizona.

Kaluma’s international experience also adds to his basketball pedigree, having represented the Silverbacks in AfroBasket 2021 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Note: The NBA draft happens every year in June. It is where teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA) choose players who have never played in the NBA before. If a player has not played in college for four years, they must enter the NBA draft by declaring themselves eligible.
