Uganda Premier League side (UPL) Vipers SC has announced the return of highly rated goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya, as confirmed by the six-time league winners on Wednesday.
Born on February 18, 1998, the 26-year-old goalkeeper had last played for Vipers from 2018 to 2021, before moving to Kenya Premier League side Wazito FC in 2021.
After three years away, Ssekagya has now returned back ‘home’ to sign a three year deal with Vipers, keeping him at Kitende until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Nicholas Wadada, like Ssekagya has also returned to Vipers, joining other new signings; Kenneth Kimera, Gusto Mulongo, Derrick Ndahiro and Pedro Sukuya Chimbiambiulo at Kitende.
At Vipers, Ssekagya will compete with three other quality goalkeepers, including Jack Komakech, Alfred Macumu Mudekereza, and Denis Kiggundu.
Besides Wazito in Kenya, the goalkeeper has also previously played for UPDF, Proline and Wakiso Giants in Uganda.
