Bobi Wine wants the country to believe I am a bad person, says Mpuuga

National Unity Platform deputy president for Buganda, Mathias Mpuuga has thrown a bombshell at the party president, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine whom he accused of trying to portray him as a bad person in the eyes of the public.

“I have not had a meeting with my party leader (Bobi Wine). I have only been hearing him speak at funerals, the media, among others, trying to convince the country to believe that I’m a terrible human being but the country has refused to believe that. I would want to meet him,” Mpuuga told journalists on Tuesday.

Mpuuga said whereas Kyagulanyi has tried hard to soil his name, he is ready to meet him and iron out their differences.

He also spoke about not attending the meeting of NUP MPs called by Kyagulanyi last week, saying it had no known agenda.

Mpuuga however insisted he will not leave the party he party founded.

“The largest opposition party (NUP) looks clueless and unable to guide its bruised cadreship. I’m going nowhere. Rather, I’ll in the coming days embark on a process of instituting internal party reforms to make it a credible and competent government in waiting.”
