Police in Wakiso have arrested three suspects in connection with a series of motorcycle robberies and recovered 10 suspected stolen motorcycles during an intelligence-led operation.
According to Reachel Kawala, the spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the arrests follow a case of aggravated robbery reported on February 13, 2026, at about 10:00pm.
“The victim, Ssesanga Equiam, reported that he had been violently attacked and robbed of his motorcycle, registration number UMA 191 DV (Bajaj Boxer), by assailants allegedly armed with pangas.”
Kawala says, that Security operatives later tracked down and arrested the suspects in Old Kampala, Bukesa–Nankulabye. During the operation, officers recovered 10 motorcycles believed to have been stolen.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects confessed to participating in multiple criminal activities, including motorcycle robberies, highway phone snatching, housebreaking, theft, and related offences.
The recovered motorcycles bear the following registration numbers:
UDH 516H, UGB 248V, UEV 046C, UDH 746H , UDK 657F , UDN 001C and four numberless Bajaj motorcycles.
Police say investigations are ongoing and efforts are underway to trace and reunite the recovered motorcycles with their rightful owners.
