Kampala- The Electoral Commission of SC Villa has officially declared Omar Ahmed Hussein as the club’s duly elected president for a five-year term after he emerged as the sole approved candidate for the position.
In a declaration issued on March 10, 2026 in Kampala, the commission stated that Hussein was vetted and approved by the club’s Board of Trustees in accordance with Regulation 22(6) of the SC Villa Regulations.
The statement, signed by Electoral Commission Chairperson Brian Kajubi, confirmed that Hussein was the only candidate validly nominated and cleared to contest for the presidency.
“Having had only Mr. Omar Ahmed Hussein as the validly nominated and approved candidate for the position of the club’s president, the Commission hereby officially declares Mr. Omar Ahmed Hussein as the club’s duly elected President for a term of five (5) years,” the statement reads in part.
The declaration effectively concludes the club’s presidential election process, paving the way for Hussein to steer the leadership of the record Ugandan football champions for the next five years.
SC Villa, one of the most successful football clubs in Uganda, has in recent years been undergoing administrative reforms aimed at strengthening governance and restoring the club’s competitive dominance in domestic football.
Hussein’s election is expected to usher in a new phase of leadership as the club seeks stability both on and off the pitch.
