Milly Naluwenda, a clerk working in the Buganda Kingdom traditional court, commonly known as Kisekwa, has been apprehended. The arrest took place in Lungujja Parish on Thursday by a team from the Directorate of Crime Intelligence (DCI).
Paul Werikhe, Naluwenda’s son, informed journalists that individuals dressed casually seized his mother near her shop in Kitunzi zone. They then forcibly placed her inside a Toyota Hiace, commonly referred to as a Drone.
Werikhe recounted the distressing events, stating that during and after the arrest, the operatives discharged multiple rounds of gunfire, seemingly to deter any interference from neighbors. “I lost consciousness once bullets started flying in this area. I think about nine bullets were fired as my mother was being taken. I don’t know who took her and for what reason,” Werikhe expressed.
Confirming Naluwenda’s arrest, Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, stated, “Last night, crime intelligence carried out an operation in the areas of Lungujja, Rubaga Division in Kampala and arrested one suspect, Milly Naluwenda. The said suspect has been arrested to help in the ongoing investigation, which Uganda Police Force is currently carrying out.”

While details of the ongoing investigations remain undisclosed, Onyango urged Naluwenda’s family members to remain composed during the investigative process.
Speculation suggests Naluwenda’s arrest could be linked to the recent demise of businessman Eng Daniel Bbosa Lwomwa, 69, also a leader in the Ndiga (sheep) clan within the Buganda kingdom.
Bbosa, the owner of Transa Electrical Company Limited, was fatally shot by three assailants riding a Haojue motorcycle disguised with a fake registration number plate. The incident occurred at the junction to his home in Kikandwa zone, Lungujja Parish, Lubaga division, while he was accompanied by his wife and house helper.
Following the attack, bodaboda riders pursued the assailants, leading to the apprehension and lynching of one suspect, Enock Sserunkuma. Another suspect, Noah Lugya, was spared for interrogation. Information provided by Lugya has reportedly aided in the arrest of three individuals, while efforts continue to apprehend the remaining fugitive.
Lugya, now conscious and hospitalized, identified his mobile phone among those collected by the police at the scene. Authorities are leveraging this evidence to trace individuals allegedly involved in orchestrating Bbosa’s murder.
