Preview: BUL Seeks First Win of the Season Against Mbarara City

BUL FC will be aiming for their first victory of the season when they host Mbarara City at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe.

The Eastern Giants, who were touted as title contenders after finishing second last season, have had a sluggish start, collecting just two points from three matches.

They drew against Police and KCCA before losing to SC Villa in their latest outing.

Coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko acknowledged the urgency of securing three points, especially against a Mbarara City side that played a pivotal role in denying them the title last season.

“After losing our previous game, we desperately need to get the three points now against Mbarara City, who denied us the trophy last season, but we’re focused on the present,” Kikomeko said. “We’ve worked on our scoring challenges and will score goals.”

BUL’s performance in their last game, a 1-0 loss to SC Villa, left much to be desired as they struggled to create clear chances.

However, they face a determined Mbarara City side that mirrors their current record with two points. Mbarara City opened their campaign with a loss to SC Villa before drawing against Police and URA.

Last season, BUL needed two wins from their final two games to clinch the league title but were held to a goalless draw by Mbarara City at Kakyeka Stadium, a result that cost them the championship.

Now, they seek redemption and their first win of the new season.
