Bushenyi: 23-Year-Old Casual Labourer Killed Body Dumped In Coffee Plantation

Shock has engulfed Ngorora village in Bitooma Town Council, Bushenyi district after a 23-year-old casual labourer was found murdered and his body dumped in a coffee plantation.

The greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson, SSP Martial Tumusiime said the deceased, Robert Nuwabine was a casual labourer in Nombe village, Katonga parish, Kakanju subcounty in Bushenyi. His body was found in a coffee plantation belonging to Steven Mbeeta on Wednesday February 28.

According to police, they were informed about his death by the Ngorora village chairperson LC1, Weena Geoffrey, 59.

“Information was received by the Oc station Bitooma from the chairperson Lc1 Ngorora cell Ngorora ward Bitooma town council that a body of unidentified male was seen in the coffee plantation that belongs to a one known as Mbeeta Steven,” Police reported.

Further reports indicate that the deceased was last seen in Kabingo trading centre on February 24. It is further alleged that it’s when he was murdered and dumped in the coffee plantation by unknown people.

Police visited the scene and taken the body to Kampala International University (KIU) teaching hospital for a postmortem.

“The body had no visible external injuries. Inquiries still at hand, you will be updated on any new developments,” Martial said.

Police described the incident as suspected murder.
