Bushenyi Chief Magistrate court has remanded the headteacher of Bubaare Primary School to Nyamushekyera for allegedly issuing fake Primary Leaving Examination 2023 results to candidates.
Lillian Ayebazibwe, was appearing before the court to take plea of her charges on Friday March 1, when court charged her with two counts of forgery and uttering of a false document.
It is alleged that on February 8, the accused with intention to defraud, forged a PLE certificate of Ahereza Blessed.
It is further alleged that the accused either knowingly or fraudulently uttered a false document in form of a testimonial said to have UNEB 2023 PLE results for Bubaare Primary School.
It should be recalled that on January 2024, UNEB released the 2023 PLE results, and results of some schools were withheld over alleged examination malpractice. The results of 114 Bubaare Primary School were among those that were withheld pending investigation into involvement in exam malpractice.
The affected schools were subjected to a fair hearing and on February 26, UNEB invited Ayebazibwe and the affected candidates for a fair hearing during which it was established that she issued fake results to candidates to allow them get admission to Senior One.
“The headteacher and the candidates of the school were invited to the UNEB Examination Security Committee, it is then that the committee discovered that the headteacher, Ms. Lillian Ayebazibwe issues false testimonials to candidates for purposes of admission to Senior One,” said UNEB PRO, Jennifer Kalule Musamba.
Court remanded Ayebazibwe to Nyamushekyera until Tuesday March5, when she will return to court to answer charges against her.
