After the official nomination, Alobo addressed the media, expressing deep gratitude to the people of Soroti City for the overwhelming love, support, and trust they have shown her throughout her first term in Parliament.

“I want to sincerely thank the people of Soroti for loving me, supporting me and walking with me in the journey of leadership. The past five years have been about service, and I am proud of the progress we have made together,” she said.

Hon. Alobo reaffirmed her commitment to continue serving the people of Soroti with dedication and honesty, emphasizing that her focus in the coming term will be to complete the projects she started, particularly in areas of service delivery, following the issue cattle compensation in Teso, and empowerment of SACCOs and women’s groups across Soroti City.

“There are projects that I started and have not yet finished. I am not coming with a new manifesto; my goal is to complete what I began.

The people have told me, ‘let her go back,’ and I am confident we shall finish the work we started together,” she added.

She also took a moment to appreciate her political opponents, calling for a peaceful and respectful campaign period, saying that elections should be about ideas and service rather than division and hatred.

Following her nomination, Hon. Alobo announced plans for her nomination rallies scheduled to take place later in the day. The first rally will be held at Oligoi Playground Stadium in Soroti City East, where she will be joined by Mr. Moses Attan Okia, the FDC flag bearer for Soroti City East Constituency.

The second rally is planned for Majors Gardens in Obuku, Soroti City West, where she will appear alongside Hon. Jonathan Ebwalu, the incumbent MP for Soroti City West.

The rallies are expected to attract massive crowds from both divisions of Soroti City, as the leaders rally support for their joint re-election under the Forum for Democratic Change banner.

During her speech, Alobo reiterated her belief in teamwork and collaboration with fellow leaders in addressing the challenges facing the people of Soroti, especially youth unemployment, education, health, and women’s economic empowerment.

“Leadership is not about doing it alone; it’s about partnership. I have worked closely with my fellow MPs, local leaders, and community groups to ensure that Soroti continues to grow. I am ready to continue that partnership for the next five years,” she emphasized.

She also highlighted the achievements registered during her first term, including improved engagement with the community, lobbying for better infrastructure, and supporting youth and women through SACCOs.

Alobo assured her supporters that she would continue advocating for fairness, transparency, and accountability in government service delivery.

The nomination marks the beginning of a new phase in her political journey as the campaign season officially kicks off on November 10, 2025, when candidates will be allowed to begin public campaigns.
