Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Charles Lukwago has officially joined South African second division side Venda Football Club on a two-year contract.
The move marks a new chapter in Lukwago’s career, following his departure from Ethiopian outfit Hawaasa City after a mutual agreement to part ways.
Lukwago’s signing with Venda FC adds to the growing list of Ugandan goalkeepers making their mark in South Africa.
He joins the ranks of notable names like Dennis Onyango, Ismail Watenga, and Salim Jamal, who have all established themselves in South Africa.
Before his international ventures, Lukwago had played locally for Lweza FC, Proline FC, and KCCA FC.
His performances later earned him moves abroad, where he featured for Ethiopian clubs St. George and Hawaasa City.
Venda FC plays its home games at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
