The presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC) Uganda. Rt. Rev. Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka has urged Ugandans and non-Ugandans to be peace makers and keepers, to reconcile and to forgive always.

Bishop Kibuuka made the call while giving his Christmas Message to the country which he based on the book of Luke 2:10 where the angel Gabriel told the Shepard not to be afraid because he was bringing good timings of great joy to all people. And in Isaiah 9:1-17 were Prophet Isaiah prophesized over 700 years before Jesus Christ was born that unto us a child will born and that’s the prince of peace who is Jesus Christ ( Isaiah 9:1-17).

“As we are concluding this year and celebrating Christmas, dear Ugandans let us ensure that we have peace within ourselves, with our families, in our areas and in our country because it’s a responsibility of everyone to pray and maintain peace.

In all aspects of life let us learn to forgive and reconcile because the two are the great pillars of consolidating peace in our lives, relations and the country at large. Forgive you opponents, spouse, children, friends, relatives among others who have wronged you.” Said Bishop Kibuuka

Bishop asserts that without peace, there is no development but only conflict. He urges that peace is another name for development which should be consolidated from the bottom of one’s heart and to the scope of the nation. He wondered why a person can think of bombing innocent people.

“ May the prince of peace Jesus Christ bring wisdom and understanding to each and every one of us to know that we all need to live in peace, joy and love as Jesus Christ teaches in Mathew 7:12 to do to others what you wish to be done to you” said Bishop

He also thanked the president of Uganda H.E Yowei Kaguta Museveni, his cabinet, the national taskforce on Covid 19 for all they have done to control the pandemic that has affected all the aspects of the people’s lives and also Ugandans who have positively responded to the Standard Operating Precedures (SOPs) that has helped in its reduction.

Bishop Kibuuka further urged the public not to lose hope “With the birth of Jesus Christ we have great hope that all will be well so let us look at the past with gratitude, the present with enthusiasm and the future with confidence. Merry Christmas to you all Ugandans and a happy new year 2022 full of peace, joy, love, blessings and development”
