Mabirizi in court today

Mabirizi appeared before Grade One Magistrate Ritah Kidasa but declined to take plea, arguing that he did not expect to receive a fair trial from the presiding magistrate.

The prosecution informed court that investigations into the matter are still ongoing. Consequently, the court ordered that Mabirizi be remanded to Luzira Prison until February 18, 2026.

According to prosecutors, Mabirizi allegedly used his TikTok account to publish statements they describe as false, abusive, and intended to demean and discredit the two senior judicial officers.

Although he later denied the accusations, Mabirizi maintained his reservations about the court, citing concerns over impartiality after initially refusing to take plea.
