The Entebbe Magistrates court has issued an arrest warrant to the Kampala city land broker Mohammad Kamoga after he failed to appear in court to answer charges of forging a lawyer’s practicing certificate in the alleged fraudulent acquisition of a 200 acre land at Garuga- Bukaaya in Entebbe, Wakiso District.
The Grade one Magistrate Lilian Mazimwe issued the arrest warrant after the state attorney Paul Byamukama Aheebwa revealed to court that Kamoga who was declared Hospitalised at Nakasero Hospital by his lawyers and unable to attend court, was not in a life threatening situation at all and could ably attend court proceedings.
Kamoga faces charges including forgery, obtaining registration by false pretense, uttering false documents, unlawful eviction and malicious damage to property.
During the previous court hearing, Senior Grade one magistrate Edgar Tibayeita Tusiime directed the state to verify the ill-health claims by the broker, Kamoga through his lawyers, after he failed to appear in court regarding the ongoing case related to the fraud of land.
The state artonney Byamukama told court today that after inquiries, he found out that Kamoga was not admitted but rather only an outpatient at Nakasero hospital and able to attend court.
The magistrate hence issued an arrest warrant to the security operatives to arrest and have Kamoga produced in court on the 6th of next month.
