Democratic Party Hosts Muslim Community for Unity-Focused Iftar Dinner

The Democratic Party of Uganda recently held an Iftar dinner at their party headquarters in Balintuma, extending a warm welcome to the Muslim community. The event, graced by Al Hajji Moses Kigongo, Vice Chairman of the National Resistance Movement, emphasized the imperative of unity among Muslims.

During the gathering, Kigongo underscored the significance of unity, emphasizing its pivotal role in fostering harmony within society. He decried the divisive nature of tribalism and stressed the importance of transcending differences for the collective good.

Acknowledging the special bond between DP President Nobert Mao and the National Resistance Movement, Kigongo commended Mao for his efforts in promoting unity, echoing the shared vision both parties aspire to achieve.

Furthermore, Kigongo highlighted the importance of forgiveness and respect in political discourse, urging politicians to prioritize cooperation and reconciliation, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Iftar Dinner, organized by the Democratic Party, witnessed a large turnout from the Muslim community, with DP’s National Vice Chairman, Hon. Fred Mukasa Mbidde, emphasizing the essential values of togetherness and unity in his address.
