Denis Omedi once again emerged as the hero, scoring in the first half to secure a 1-0 victory for Kitara against Wakiso Giants at Masindi Ground.

Omedi also found the net in the Royals’ previous game, condemning KCCA in Lugogo.

Under Brian Ssenyondo’s leadership, the team now sits atop the table, one point ahead of second-placed BUL, who have played one game less.

From the outset, the hosts pressed for an early goal, and their persistence paid off in the 8th minute when Omedi’s header beat Goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya.

Kitara continued to press and could have increased their lead, with George Senkaaba’s strike hitting the side net and Paddy Muhumuza failing to hit the target with a tame effort.

In the second half, Frank Tumwesigye missed an opportunity to score, unable to meet Maxwell Owachgiu’s cross before being denied by George Kaddu’s goal-line clearance.

Wakiso Giants, though less aggressive than the hosts, attempted to equalize, with Samson Kigozi’s long-range shot going wide and Shariph Kimbowa, Mikidad Ssenyonjo, and Rahmat Ssenfuka all failing to beat the goalkeeper.

Kitara now boasts 39 points from 19 matches, while Wakiso Giants languish in 12th place with 20 points.

Next Fixture: Kitara FC will face Maroons at Luzira Prisons Ground on Friday, 8th, while two days later, Wakiso Giants will host Vipers at Kabaka Kyabaggu.
