The Deputy Inspector General of Government (IGG) has made a decision regarding the situation in Mayuge District. Brenda Nabwire, the Senior Records Officer of the district, faces a six-month interdiction and arrest due to allegations of missing documents.
During a surprise two-day service delivery inspection in Mayuge District, Deputy IGG Anne Muhairwe announced the decision. She stated that Nabwire’s actions were causing disruptions to service delivery in the district.
Muhairwe expressed concern over the suffering experienced by people due to Nabwire’s actions. She alleged that documents tended to vanish under Nabwire’s watch, and she wielded significant power over various administrative matters, including transfers and payroll management.
Moreover, Muhairwe emphasized that Nabwire’s arrest would serve as a deterrent to others who fail to meet their responsibilities adequately.

Nabwire’s arrest stemmed from her persistence in demanding evidence from the IGG’s team, which aggravated Muhairwe. Consequently, Muhairwe instructed the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Mayuge, Donath Eswiru, to proceed with Nabwire’s interdiction and arrest.
In response to these developments, Mayuge District LC5 Chairperson, Bishop Frank Tibagendeka, stated that Nabwire was taken to the Mayuge Central Police Station for further questioning. He acknowledged the longstanding issue of information going missing and highlighted efforts made by the District Executive Committee to address it.
Bishop Tibagendeka stressed the need to recognize and promote civil servants who have performed exceptionally well in their duties. He implied that such recognition could contribute to improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of government services.
