Hon.Katusiime Mugisha sitting Member of Parliament of Bushenyi district and flag bearer for the ruling party NRM started Bushenyi district politics 8 years ago with a lot of love and compassion from the voters of Bushenyi and promoted a lot of projects that helped the people of Bushenyi to come out of poverty
She was voted in 2020 as a flag bearer for NRM defeating a powerful minister the late Hon Mary Karooro Okurut . Thereafter she contested in general elections in 2021 and won comfortably.
WHAT HAPPENED AFTER HER TAKING OVER THE HELM OF A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT OF A MODEL DISTRICT BUSHENYI?
Immediately after one year of her tenure in office as a member of parliament, her colleague area member of parliament Igara West Gafa Ebwa Tekamwa fled the constituency and Hon Katusiime become defactal member of parliament for the above constituency.
Hon .Annet on top of her daily duties as a woman member of parliament she added duties of MP Igara West and performed the two duties successfully well .
Still after three years Hon Derrick Kabura Baimukye vanished in the oblivion, as well Hon Annet Mugisha added on the responsibilities of MP Bushenyi -Ishaka municipality on top of Igara West .
Igara East as the third constituency that makes up Bushenyi district, had also from the start faced the challenges of representation because the area Member of Parliament was 80% off the constituency. This constituency was also approximately 60% in the hands of Hon. Annet Katusiime Mugisha.
Hon.Annet Katusiime Mugisha moved two among many matters of national importance on the floor of parliament for the people of Bushenyi district these are; when kabagarame international pork market was burnt, Hon Annet stood up in parliament and raised that matter .The deputy speaker of parliament ordered the prime minister who in turn passed it over to the minister of local government Hon Rafeal Magezi who toured the market and promised to fence it to deter detractors who always burn the market
Another matter of national importance that Hon Annet raised on the floor of parliament was when hailstorms swept the entire Bushenyi district .After raising it in parliament, families were provided with seeds and food stuffs by the office of the prime minister.
During her time before she become the member of parliament and after, she has supported churches mosques, schools ,weddings ,burials fundraisings among others in the entire district.
Conclusively therefore going by the above contributions and services to the people of Bushenyi Hon Annet Mugisga deserves the second term to conclude on the areas she didn’t touch.
