Express FC inflicted further misery on relegation-threatened UPDF FC in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

The Red Eagles dominated the first half, netting three times before UPDF managed to pull one back at Wankulukuku.

Goals from Joshua Musoke, Kevin Ssekimbegga, and Isaac Wagoina secured the victory for Express, while debutant youngster Abasi Luutu Junior scored a consolation for UPDF FC.

Despite off-field controversies, Express clinched their first win of the second round in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

The hosts demonstrated ruthlessness, sealing the deal within the first forty-five minutes and dampening the visitors’ hopes.

Express seized an early lead in the 8th minute through Musoke, who finished from a Wagoina pass. Ssekimbegga doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, before Wagoina added a third in the 44th minute.

In the second half, Pius Ngabo’s men regrouped and managed to reduce the deficit in the 90th minute through Abasi, marking a proud moment for the UPDF Junior Team captain making his top-flight debut.

With this win, Express climbed to 7th position with 29 points, while UPDF remained rooted in the relegation zone at 15th place with 11 points.
