Facebook, WhatsApp & Instagram Gradually Return to Normal Following Worldwide Outage

Social media was a few hours ago brought to a stand still after the world’s mostly used instant messaging apps, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were hit by a worldwide outage

However, the Facebook owned apps are slowly returning to normal after over six hours of being disabled.

Through Twitter, Facebook explained that the apps were slowly coming back to normal functioning and apologized for any inconveniences that had affected several millions of people across the globe.

“To the huge community of people and businesses around the world who depend on us, we are sorry. We have been working hard to restore access to our apps and services and are happy to report they are coming back online now.” Facebook announced.

William Cathcart, the head of WhatsApp also tweeted that their services are now running but declined to reveal what caused the issue.

“We know that people were unable to use @WhatsApp to connect with their friends, family, businesses, community, groups and more today – a humbling reminder if how much people and organizations rely on our app everyday.” he wrote.

However, Facebook later explained that the problem had been caused by faulty configuration changed on it’s routers.

Following the outage, it is alleged the Mark Zuckerberg lost billions and sent his networth sloping down to $120.9 billions, dropping him below Bill Gates
