FIVE NETTED OVER CASTLE THEFT IN MASINDI

The Masindi Police are investigating a case of cattle theft that occurred on October 27, 2025, during the night in Omwiguru village, Kijunjubwa Sub-county, Masindi District.

The victim has been i identified by police as Njunjure James, a 41-year-old male cattle keeper who had 7 cows stolen from his kraal.
The five suspects have been I identified as: Kasigazi William, Ninsiima Amos, Talemwa Stephen, Kabandize Geoffrey and Kabobo Isaac

According to SP Julius Allan Hakiza PRO Albertine, 2 cows were recovered, report registered and investigations commenced.

Hakiza adds that scene of crime was visited, statement recorded from witnesses, exhibits recovered and photographed leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The officer further States that the suspects were involved in stealing and selling of cows. The stolen cows were sold at Ngoma market in Nakaseke district.

He says the suspects had a strong linkage and connection to stealing and selling cows in the area adding that police is working to recover the remaining exhibits.

Hakiza says police are committed to completing the investigations and bring the suspects to justice. And appeals to the public to share information with the police to help end cattle theft in the region.
