In a surprise move, former City Oilers players Jimmy Enabu and James Okello have officially signed with lower division side Entebbe Knight Riders.
The duo’s departure from Oilers in May followed a silent dispute with the club’s management.
Enabu and Okello were instrumental in Oilers’ dominance, contributing to nine consecutive league titles.
Okello joined Oilers in 2012, while Enabu followed in 2013, making a return to his former club, Knight Riders.
During the National Basketball League’s first round, Enabu and Okello averaged 7 and 10 points per game, respectively.
Knight Riders, who finished eighth with a 7-8 record in the first round, have also acquired Andrew ‘Mabenz’ Opio ahead of the second round.
With these new additions, Knight Riders have emerged as genuine contenders for one of the three promotion spots to the National Basketball League.
They join Rezlife Saints, Sommet, UMU Flames, and UPDF Tomahawks in the pursuit of top-tier basketball.
