Former SC Villa left back Joseph Kafumbe is poised to sign with Uganda Premier League side URA FC.
Kafumbe, a key player in SC Villa’s 17th title-winning squad last season, became a free agent after his contract expired.
The left back has since trained with URA FC’s training ground in Hormsdalen Primary School, Gayaza.
He is expected to fill the void left by Eric Ssenjobe, who joined Police FC in the Primus Rwanda National Premier League.
Kafumbe began his career at KCCA, earning promotion to the senior team in 2019 before joining SC Villa in 2021.
His addition to URA FC’s squad is part of the team’s offseason overhaul under new head coach Alex Isabirye.
Other new faces at the club include goalkeepers Derrick Ochan and Abdu Magada, Vuni Bright Joseph, Ibrahim Kazindula, George Masembe, and Abraham Tusubira.
The team has also released several players, including Saidi Kyeyune, Dada Ibrahim, Hassan Kalega, Steven Mwaka, and Viane Ssekajuko.
While the signings have not been officially announced, URA FC is bolstering its squad for the upcoming season.
