The FUFA Competitions Department has officially released the fixtures for the 2024/25 Women Super League, with the new season set to kick off on Friday, September 27, 2024.
The opening match will see last season’s runners up Kampala Queens FC host Wakiso Hill WFC at the MTN-Omondi Stadium.
Matchday One will extend into Saturday with three exciting encounters. Lady Doves FC will face off against FC Tooro Queens, while newly promoted teams Olila High School WFC and Amus College WFC (formerly Byafaayo Queens) will clash in Soroti.
Meanwhile, reigning champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will begin their title defense at home against Rines SS WFC.
The weekend of football will conclude on Sunday, September 29, with Uganda Martyrs Lubaga taking on She Corporate FC in Bugolobi, and Makerere University WFC hosting She Maroons FC.
The 2024/25 season comes with notable changes, including the rebranding of the league from the FUFA Women Super League to the Finance Trust Women Super League, following the sponsorship deal with Finance Trust Bank.
The league also expands from ten to twelve teams, thanks to the promotion of She Corporate FC, Amus College WFC, FC Tooro Queens, and Olila High School WFC.
In an effort to further boost the visibility of women’s football, selected fixtures will be played on the same day as the Uganda Premier League matches.
The first round of the league will run until December 15, 2024, before taking a break and resuming on February 1, 2025, with the season set to conclude on May 3, 2025.
