Gavin Kizito: KCCA Unveil SC Villa Defender

Former SC Villa captain Gavin Kizito has completed his move to another Uganda Premier League (UPL) side, KCCA on a two-year deal.

Born in January 2002, the 22-year-old former Uganda Hippos player has committed himself to staying at Lugogo until he’s 24, in 2026.

The defender has been handed the shirt number 21 for the 2024/25 season, and the new Kasasiro Boy just can’t wait to get started.

“I feel so excited and happy to join KCCA FC. I have an ambition to help the club win trophies together with my fellow players,” Kizito said at his unveiling.

“I am thankful to the club board, management, and Head Coach for having granted me this opportunity to join KCCA FC, and I will also re-pay their faith in me.

Kizito is a versatile defender who can comfortably play as a right back and centreback.

At KCCA, he will compete for a a starting berth with Filbert Obenchan, Musitafa Mujuzi, Hassan Muhamud, Haruna Lukwago, and Peter Magambo.

The defender most recently won the UPL in the 2023/24 season, with SC Villa, a club he had re-joined shortly after his stint at Egyptian side Al Ittihad.

Gavin is a proven leader with vast experience given his age. He captained the Uganda U20 men’s national side to the AFCON U20 final against Ghana in Nouakchott, Mauritania, 2021.

He has risen through all the national team ranks having previously captained the U17, U20, U23 sides and also featured for the senior men’s side, the Uganda Cranes.
