“If I Ever Die, My Own Mother must be Held Responsible” – Singer Irene Namubiru

Legendary singer Irene Namubiru has shocked many after revelations that her own biological mother Justine Nyanzi Namawejje wants to take her life over some property situated in Mityana.

A few days ago after the court hearing, Namubiru told the media that if something ever happens and she sadly leaves this life, her mother must be held responsible.

“I am not allowed to say much since we are still in court but in case something bad happens to me, please you will have to ask my mother, she knows everything,” she said in a recent online interview.

According to news reports, Irene Namubiru, her mother Namawejje her aunt Brenda Nyanzi Kigema together with her brother Roberto Nsimbe say the land belonged to the singer’s grandfather, Godfrey Nyanzi Ssemitego who died in 1998.

What is the subject of Court’s interpretation on who should inherit the land, about eight acres, is whether it should be shared between Namawejje and Brenda Nyanzi Kigema, the late’s daughters or if a verbal will that Semitego’s grand children, including singer Namubiru, should each get one acre of the land.

Irene Namubiru says her grandfather, Godfrey Nyanzi Ssemitego gave her one Acre of land in words before he died on August 28th, 1998.

Yet Kigema says their father’s verbal will should be respected and Namubiru given her one acre.

But Irene’s mum, Justine Nyanzi Namawejje, she claims that in 2009 she wanted to get letters of administration but due to the fact that she was sick, she sent Irene and Brenda Nyanzi Kigema who reached in lands office and connived to steal the land.
