Bobi Wine, Gen Muntu Set To Receive Shs800m Posh Cars After NUP Boss Is Allowed To Address IPOD Summit Via Zoom… – Ono Bwino

Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) Secretary General Fred Ebil has confirmed that the council of Secretary Generals under the Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue (IPOD) has approved the resolution of giving all association presidents cars to help them in running their respected political parties.Ebil revealed that according to the budget, among those who are set to receive the posh cars include Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) and Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu of the Alliance for National Transition (ANT) who are set to be officially admitted into the political group next month.“The resolution of buying cars to our leaders in IPOD was passed in the last term but because the budget was not enough, we decided to buy minibuses for all political parties which were already admitted in IPOD. NUP didn’t receive its bus because they had not yet been officially admitted and talks are underway to get one for them to help them during grassroot political mobilization,” Ebil said.According to sources, each car is going to cost the taxpayer Shs800m a price defended by Ebil who explained that political leaders who have Members of Parliament have to be with a powerful car that can transport them around the entire country including deep in the villages which have poor roads to mobilize support for their respective political parties.Sources said that the budget to purchase the said cars will be released in the next quarter of this financial year. After, they will also purchase another batch of cars for Secretary Generals of the political parties under IPOD and each is likely to cost the taxpayer not less than Shs500m.“You cannot give each Member of Parliament more than Shs300m for cars then you let their political party leaders jump on boda bodas during political mobilization. We have to support political parties especially their top leaders, because the president doesn’t want them to be misled by foreign enemies of our country,” State House source said.In a related development, Ebil confirmed that Lina Zedriga the Acting NUP president was allowed to lead a delegation of fifty members of their political party to sign all the necessary documents allowing NUP to be admitted in the political group on behalf of Bobi Wine who is out of the country.Sources said that Museveni made the final decision allowing Zedriga to sign papers on behalf of Bobi Wine even though other party chairpersons were insisting that Bobi Wine has to be present physically because the laws do not allow Acting presidents to submit their party’s to IPOD.“It’s true Zedriga is going to sign on behalf of Bobi Wine who is also going to be following the submissions via Zoom. He has to also address fellow leaders. We waived everything for NUP because we all want a peaceful country and resolve our issues internally without involving foreigners,” Ebil said.Sources said that Bobi Wine is still scared of coming back to Uganda after claiming that he sneaked out of the country because Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) wanted to kidnap him and imprison him on fabricated political charges. His wife Barbra Itungo and children also followed him to United States of America after the military raided their Magere home.Even though NUP and ANT decided to join IPOD, Dr Kizza Besigye’s People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) declined to join the political group even though they also have MPs., https://onobwino.com/in-things-bobi-wine-gen-muntu-set-to-receive-shs800m-posh-cars-after-nup-boss-is-allowed-to-address-ipod-summit-via-zoom/
