Fresh details have emerged in the investigation of the murder of Ndiga clan leader Daniel Bbosa, shedding light on the involvement of his nemesis, Lujja Bbosa Tabula.

Authorities conducting the probe have uncovered information suggesting that Tabula orchestrated the killing of Bbosa, reportedly due to a longstanding rivalry between the two. The genesis of their conflict traces back to 2021 when Tabula declared himself the legitimate leader of the Ndiga Clan, a move vehemently contested by Bbosa.

The dispute escalated when Tabula’s claim to leadership was rejected by members of the Ndiga clan during an event held in Mbaale-Mawokota, Mpigi district. Despite attempts to present Tabula’s case to the Buganda Kingdom parliament, led by Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, his legitimacy was not recognized.

Undeterred, Tabula pursued his claim through Buganda Kingdom’s traditional court, known as Kisekwa, which ruled in his favor. However, Bbosa appealed the decision to Kabaka Ronald Mwenda Mutebi II, seeking final arbitration.

Recent police investigations indicate that Tabula, in collaboration with Buganda Kingdom’s Tradition Court clerk, Milly Naluwenda, hired individuals to carry out Bbosa’s assassination. The fatal attack occurred on February 25 near Bbosa’s residence in Kampala, where he was shot multiple times by assailants on a motorcycle.

Despite the swift apprehension of one suspect by locals, identified as Enock Sserunkuma, and the sparing of another, Noah Lujja, for interrogation, Tabula remains at large. Information provided by Lujja has facilitated the arrest of six additional suspects, including Naluwenda, who was allegedly in constant communication with the assailants leading up to the murder.

The police have announced a substantial reward for any credible information leading to Tabula’s arrest, emphasizing the active pursuit of justice in the case. While efforts to apprehend all involved parties continue, questions arise regarding the motivations driving individuals, including those affiliated with Buganda Kingdom institutions, to participate in such a heinous crime.

As the investigation progresses, the community mourns the loss of Bbosa, laid to rest at the Ndiga clan ancestral site in Mpigi district. His successor, Eria Luggya Lwasi Buzaabo, has assumed leadership amidst heightened scrutiny and calls for accountability.
