The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted another Express Entry draw. Just yesterday, the department issued invitations to 1,121 candidates across a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw. This was overall the fifth Express Entry draw conducted by IRCC in August.
Candidates who received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the Express Entry latest draw, now have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to the IRCC. If this timeframe passes, the ITA will no longer be valid.
Express Entry Latest Draw – Results
The Express Entry latest draw was held on 27 August 2024. A total of 3,300 candidates from Express Entry’s Canadian Experience Class (CEC) stream were invited to apply for PR. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 507 or above to be eligible for invitation.
Draw No: #312
Type of draw: Canadian Experience Class
- Number of invitations issued: 3,300
- Rank required to be invited to apply: 3,300 or above
- Date and time of round: August 27, 2024, at 17:44:02 UTC
- CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 507
- Tie-breaking rule: June 05, 2024, at 01:08:58 UTC
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
Draws under the Express Entry Program have followed an unusual pattern throughout 2024. For instance, last month in May, IRCC conducted nine Express Entry draws welcoming over 25,000 candidates to apply for permanent residence (PR). Usually, IRCC conducts 2-3 draws every month – typically on a Wednesday. This has made it difficult to predict when the next invitation round will occur.
Currently, IRCC is conducting three types of Express Entry draws:
- General Express Entry draws
- Program-specific Express Entry draws
- Category-based Express Entry draw
The chances of receiving an invitation in the upcoming Express Entry draws will entirely depend on the candidate’s CRS score. The higher the score, the more the chances of gaining Canadian permanent residency.
IRCC processes 80% of the applications under the Express Entry Program in 6 to 8 months.
