The chairman of NRM Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality and strong businessman as well as former aide to tycoon Hassan Basajabalaba was summoned to Bushenyi police yesterday recorded the statement in regards to the panga men that cut 16 people across Ishaka town on independence day 2025
Hajji Muhammad Lukwago is a rich and stubborn man whose son of his boss Hajji Idi Basajabalaba ordered him to vacate their properties and be managed by tycoon Basajabalaba’s children but refused.
According to the report from the RDC Bushenyi Mr.Emmy Ngabirano the second division commander and PS ministry of internal affairs Lt Gen.Joseph Musanyufu and other civil servants who were gathered at multi-purpose hall in Bushenyi town ,RDC Ngabirano said they arrested 60 people over panga issues and 28 appeared in court and were remanded to Nyamishekyera gov’t prison.
There has been unrest in Ishaka town because of fightings brought in by Muhammad Lukwago refusing to vacate properties of his forme boss tycoon Hassan Basajabalaba.

While taking to RDC, RPC,DPC,they noted that they worked hard to ensure that peace returns to Ishaka which hosts KIU Western campus ,KIU teaching hospital and seventh Adventist institutions among other big institutions .
