Toronto is set to resonate with the vibrant sounds of reggae as Jamaican star Korexion headlines the Annual African Descent Summit 2024. Keipher Scott, popularly known as Korexion, comes from a family of talented musicians in Jamaica and has continued his musical journey in Canada, blending his roots with his new home.

Korexion’s musical education began in the iconic Trench Town, a place deeply connected to the legacy of reggae music and the legendary Bob Marley. As a child, Korexion strummed his first guitar, which once belonged to Marley himself. This profound connection has inspired Korexion to celebrate Marley’s legacy annually in his hometown, performing on Marley’s birthday.

Growing up in Trench Town wasn’t easy. Korexion faced poverty, violence, and political strife daily, yet he remained resolute in his mission to become a voice of change. His music, characterized by clean lyrics and a lovers’ rock feel, spreads messages of love and positivity worldwide. This mission has earned him accolades, including a prestigious Canadian Juno Award for Best Reggae Recording of the Year.

Now, Korexion is focusing on his roots while continuing to evolve as an artist. He has signed with Canadian independent label 3P Entertainment and released a new EP titled “Dreams.” The title track, released on April 5, 2021, features a lyrics video and has been promoted across streaming platforms and radio waves. Korexion believes that while everything starts with a dream, it is action and hard work that bring those dreams to fruition.
