Jinja’s Amber Court Round Gets a new Face

JINJA– MTN Uganda has today marked two major urban development milestones in Jinja City, launching a fully branded Amber Court roundabout and breaking ground on the refurbishment of the City Fountain at the Mayor’s Gardens, fulfilling promises made to the city.

The initiatives are part of MTN Uganda’s broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda under its Ambition 2025 Strategy, which emphasizes sustainable growth and community development alongside technological innovation.

Speaking during the ceremony, MTN Uganda CEO Sylvia Mulinge said the projects symbolize the company’s commitment to connecting communities while enhancing public spaces.

Sylvia Mulinge further revealed that the branded roundabout, adorned in MTN’s distinctive yellow, is intended as a symbol of movement, connection, and progress, while the City Fountain (Omuduluudo/Enkulungo), once refurbished, will serve as a landmark representing renewal and community pride.

Jinja City Mayor, Alton Peter Kasolo Okocha, welcomed the projects saying as Jinja city, they are delighted to partner with MTN Uganda on the initiatives. Adding that the refurbished fountain and the branded roundabout will enhance Jinja City’s beauty and create spaces that Jinja residents and those from the far can enjoy for years to come.

Jinja City RCC Gulume Richard Balyaino applauded MTN for the initiative saying the unveiling of the branded roundabout in Jinja city has greatly beautified the city.
