In a penultimate round of the FUFA Women Super League, Kawempe Muslim overcame Asubo Ladies 2-0, setting the stage for a nail-biting title decider on the final day of the FUFA Women Super League season.
Late goals from Esther Nangendo and Rhoda Nanziri secured a hard-fought victory for Kawempe Muslim on Sunday.
The win propelled them to 37 points, maintaining their slender one-point lead over defending champions Kampala Queens.
Kampala Queen also showed their intent to retain the title, cruising to a 3-0 victory over She Maroons in Luzira.
Goals from Shamira Nalugya, who scored twice, and Anita Namata kept their title hopes alive.
Next Sunday, the top two teams face off in a highly anticipated clash that will determine the league champion at the Valley in Kawempe.
Kawempe Muslim, under the guidance of coach Ayub Khalifa, need at least a draw to secure the title and claim their fourth top-flight league championship—the first in the league’s current format since it was renamed the FUFA Women Super League.
