In a celebration marking the inaugural Vipers Day, six-time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have extended an invitation to Kenya’s Mozzart Bet Cup winners, Police FC, for an international friendly match.

The game is scheduled to take place at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on Saturday, July 27th, 2024.

Police FC earned their invitation by clinching the Kenya Cup tournament title, triumphing over KCB with an 8-7 victory in a dramatic post-match penalty shootout after a goalless draw.

As winners, Police FC will represent Kenya in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Finishing third in the 2023/24 Kenya Premier League season, Police FC amassed 57 points across 34 matches, trailing behind runners-up Tusker FC and champions Gor Mahia FC.

For Vipers SC, this friendly serves a dual purpose: entertaining their fans and honing their team’s skills ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

For Police FC, the match provides a crucial opportunity to evaluate their squad before the upcoming Kenyan season and their CAF Confederation Cup journey.

This event also aims to strengthen the relationship between the two clubs as they work towards expanding their brands regionally, continentally, and globally.

The friendly match, set to be the climax of Vipers Day, will be played under floodlights and will follow an earlier game featuring Vipers Legends against a Vipers Fans Select team.

The day’s festivities include a variety of activities such as performances from top local musicians, fan interactions, squad unveilings, sponsor engagements, fan registrations, and ample wining and dining.

The celebration promises to be a memorable day for all attendees, combining the thrill of football with vibrant entertainment.
