The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) technical pilot draw issued 95 invitations to applicants in the BC Express Entry and Skills immigration categories held on March 9.
Invited candidates need to have a minimum score of 80 points. After getting an invitation, candidates have 30 calendar days to submit their application for provincial nomination.
What is the BC PNP Tech draw?
To provide a fast-track immigration pathway to In-demand tech workers and international students, BC PNP introduced Tech Pilot. Candidates need to have applied for nomination through one of the BC PNPs immigration streams and have a valid job offer of a minimum of 12 months in one of 29 eligible occupations.
To apply under EEBC (Express Entry BC) or SI (Skills Immigration) categories, candidates are needed to create an online profile through the BC PNP portal and register under its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

All the profiles are then awarded points based on different criteria such as years of direct work experience, education and, having a valid job offer. These points determine whether the profile will be invited in the latest provincial draw or not.
The pilot project was launched in May 2017, following a labor market study that found that the biggest problem facing BC’s tech sector was accessing talent. The Tech Pilot was therefore created to support the growth of the technology sector by facilitating the immigration of workers with in-demand skills to British Columbia. Tech draw has been recently extended until June 2021.
