LeBron James expressed frustration with the NBA’s replay system following a disputed call during a game against the Timberwolves. In the closing moments with the Lakers trailing 107-104, LeBron sank a shot he believed to be a game-tying three-pointer. However, the officials ruled it as a two-pointer, leading to a 108-106 loss for the Lakers after a subsequent foul by Anthony Edwards.

In his post-game remarks, LeBron questioned the effectiveness of the league’s replay system, saying, “What the hell do we got replay for? What do we have replay for if even the replay gets it wrong? It’s just like, who is a part of the replay center? Like, do we got robots in there making Teslas? Like, what’s going on?” The Lakers star argued that it was an obvious three-point shot, emphasizing the space between his foot and the three-point line.

LeBron continued his critique, asserting, “I mean, it’s obvious it’s a 3. My foot was behind the line. You can see the space between the front of my foot and the 3-point line. You can clearly see the wood on the floor, the space in between the front of my foot and the 3-point line. Stevie Wonder can see that, champ.” However, Tony Brothers, the floor chief, maintained that there wasn’t clear and conclusive evidence to overturn the ruling after video review.

LeBron James isn’t the only figure expressing frustration with NBA officiating this season. Boosie Badazz, the rapper, took to social media earlier in the year to criticize the abundance of technical fouls being called, stating that it detracts from the game’s competitiveness. Boosie’s comments came after he attended a Hawks game where he openly vented his frustration at the referees, claiming the team had been cheated in the 117-109 loss to Miami.
